 Welcome Back Open House Letter to Families


Dear Families,

Welcome to a new school year at St. Charles Catholic Elementary School! We hope your summer has been filled with opportunities to relax, reconnect with family, and create wonderful memories. We are looking forward to another amazing year of learning, faith, and community together.

Our school office will reopen on August 24th at 9:00 a.m. As we prepare for the start of the school year, we are excited to introduce a new way to welcome our students and families back to school. 

This year, we are inviting families to join us for a Welcome Back Open House & School Supply Drop-Off before the first day of school. This will be a wonderful opportunity for students and families to visit the school, meet their teacher, find their classroom, drop off school supplies, and begin the year feeling comfortable and connected. 

Welcome Back Open House & School Supply Drop-Off: 

Monday, August 31
3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

There will be no formal program or presentation scheduled this year. Instead, simply arrive anytime between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on August 31 and head directly to your child's classroom. This open house will be your family's first opportunity to visit the classroom, meet your child's teacher, and drop off school supplies before the school year begins.

To help you find your way:

  • Your child's teacher and classroom number will be posted at the front entrance.

  • A school map and teacher assignment list are included with this letter for your convenience. 

  • Student classroom assignments will be posted at the front entrance, and members of our administrative team will be available to greet families and help provide directions, especially for those who are new to St. Charles. 

During your visit, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Meet your child's teacher.

  • Visit the classroom.

  • Drop off school supplies.

  • Help your child become familiar with their learning environment before the first day of school.

We believe this relaxed, drop-in format will provide families with a more personal first visit while helping students feel comfortable and excited about the year ahead. It will also allow teachers to begin meaningful instructional time on the first day of school, Wednesday, September 2, at 8:00 a.m.

If you are unable to attend the Open House on August 31, arrangements can be made directly with your child's teacher for an alternate day and time once school has begun. Students are also welcome to bring their school supplies with them on the first day of classes if needed.

We are excited to welcome both returning and new families to our St. Charles community as we begin another year rooted in joy, faith, and learning. We look forward to seeing you on August 31!
